The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Panathinaikos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Panathinaikos smashed 3rd placed Promitheas in Athens 92-67. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Panathinaikos forced 19 Promitheas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Nemanja Nedovic (192-91, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 17 points. American forward Okaro White (206-92, college: FSU) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. American power forward Dario Hunt (204-89, college: Nevada) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Kendrick Ray (188-94, college: KSU) added 17 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos (8-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Olympiacos. Promitheas at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Promitheas will play next round against Iraklis trying to get back on the winning streak. Panathinaikos will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Apollon P. in Patra.
