There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (4-6) smashed at home 8th ranked Galil Gilboa (4-6) 89-68 on Monday. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Galil Gilboa's 36. Hapoel Tel-Aviv forced 20 Galil Gilboa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American swingman James Young (198-95, college: Kentucky) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Gil Beni (180-98) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side British-American power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones (212-98, college: NC State) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Yotam Hanochi (204-0) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to eighth place, which they share with H.Galil Gilboa and H.Beer Sheva. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tel-Aviv to the arena Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
