Regular Season Round 11: Navarra - Burgos 77-78

Very expected game in Pamplona where 12th ranked Navarra (3-8) was edged by sixth ranked Burgos (7-4) 78-77 on Wednesday. Burgos made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Burgos outrebounded Navarra 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American center Coreontae DeBerry (208-94, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Didac Cuevas (178-0) helped adding 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. American-Nigerian forward Stephen Ugochukwu (201-96, college: McNeese St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Adrian Garcia (203-85) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Navarra players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Burgos moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Loser Navarra dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Burgos will meet at home Algeciras (#9) in the next round. Navarra will play against the league's leader Zornotza (#1) in Amorebieta-Echano and hope to secure a win.
