Regular Season Round 9: Akademik P. - Prishtina 74-78

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bulgarian Akademik P. (5-4) in Plovdiv on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Kosovan Prishtina (5-2) 78-74. Prishtina forced 21 Akademik P. turnovers. Strangely Akademik P. outrebounded Prishtina 46-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Senegalese center Biram Faye (206-0) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American guard Dachon Burke (193-97, college: USA) chipped in 21 points. The best for the losing side was Tomislav Minkov (196-1) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian center Nemanja Besovic (221-92) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Akademik P.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Kosovan champion keeps a position of Group B leader. Akademik P. at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. Prishtina are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Ibar (#5) in Rozaje in the next round. Akademik P. will have a break next round.
