Regular Season Round 15: Komarno - Handlova 89-66

Very expected game when 6th ranked Handlova (6-8) was crushed on the road by second ranked Komarno (11-3) 89-66 on Wednesday. Komarno made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Jorden Duffy (185-96, college: N.Texas) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Serbian swingman Luka Gasic (195-98) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Komarno's coach Zlatko Jovanovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jordon Talley (185-95, college: UNCW) who recorded 13 points and 5 assists and the former international center Michal Cekovsky (211-94, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Komarno and four Handlova players scored in double figures. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Komarno. Newly promoted Komarno maintains second place with 11-3 record behind leader Levice. Handlova lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Komarno will meet Spisski Rytieri (#5) in the next round. Handlova will play against Iskra Svit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
