Regular Season Round 12: Gorzow Wlkp. - Arka Gdynia 62-59

The most exciting game of round 12 in the EBLK took place in Gorzow Wielkopolski. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Arka Gdynia (8-4) to sixth ranked Gorzow Wlkp. (8-5) 62-59 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for American-Bosnian forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) who led her team to a victory with 24 points. American forward Stephanie Jones (188-98, college: Maryland) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Four Gorzow Wlkp. players scored in double figures. American forward Megan Gustafson (190-96, college: Iowa) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and French point guard Romane Bernies (170-93) added 13 points in the effort for Arka Gdynia. Arka Gdynia's coach Gundars Vetra tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gorzow Wlkp. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Arka Gdynia keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Gorzow Wlkp. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked GTK Gdynia (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Arka Gdynia will play against Polonia W-wa (#7) in Warszawa and is hoping to win this game.
