Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Algeciras (5-7) was outscored on the road by fifth ranked Burgos (8-4) 92-60 on Wednesday. Burgos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Algeciras' players. The winners were led by guard Didac Cuevas (178-0) who scored that evening 7 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals and Garmine Kieli supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 8 rebounds by Senegalese forward Issa Thiam (208-96, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Algeciras. Naturalized Senegalese center Serigne Ndiaye (204-98) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos moved-up to fourth place in Silver. Loser Algeciras keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Burgos will meet Gijon (#8) on the road in the next round. Algeciras will play against the league's leader Zornotza and hope to secure a win.
