There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Moron (7-5) defeated on the road 5th ranked Ponferrada (7-5) 72-56 on Wednesday. Moron made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Ponferrada turnovers. The winners were led by Portuguese guard Diogo De Sousa (198-97, college: Utah St.) who scored that evening 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Luis Parejo (194-89) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even 11 points and 6 assists by swingman Guillermo Mulero (191-97, agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for Ponferrada. Guard Daniel Manchon (193-98, agency: Promo Sport ID) added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Moron moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Moron will meet at home Marbella (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ponferrada will play against Navarra (#12) in Pamplona and hope to secure a win.
