Regular Season Round 11: Neptunas - RSU 91-71

There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 6th ranked Latvian RSU (5-6) was crushed by third ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (9-1) 91-71. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. RSU was better in fourth quarter 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game, while RSU only scored nine points from the stripe. Neptunas players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. RSU was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Lithuanian Ligita Tamutyte (177-99) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Latvian guard Liza Cumika (181-99) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Mara Mote (178-0, college: Arizona) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for RSU. Five Neptunas and four RSU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Neptunas maintains third place with 9-1 record having just three points less than leader RSU 2. RSU at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Siauliu Siauliai and TalTech. Neptunas will play against league's leader TTT Riga on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. RSU will play against Aistes-LSMU (#5) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
