Sixteenth-ranked Start (3-14) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Czarni (13-4) in Lublin on Thursday. The visitors from Slupsk managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected much easier game. Czarni looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Beau Beech (203-94, college: UNF) saved the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Billy Garrett (197-94, college: DePaul) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Czarni players scored in double figures. Czarni's coach Mantas Cesnauskis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) answered with 25 points and 6 assists and forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: DePaul) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Start. Czarni have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-4 record, which they share with Anwil. Start lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. They share it with GTK Gliwice. Czarni is looking forward to face Enea Zastal (#5) in Zielona Gora in the next round. Start will play on the road against Wilki Morskie (#6) in Szczecin and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
