Rather expected game in Logrono where 10th ranked Promete (6-8) was defeated by seventh ranked Zaragoza (8-7) 62-53 on Tuesday. It was a great evening for the former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: RMU) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Aina Ayuso (175-99, college: Oregon) with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Promete's coach Cesar Aneas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zaragoza moved-up to fifth place. Promete lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Zaragoza are looking forward to face Leganes (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Promete will play against Ferrol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
