Regular Season Round 13: Leszno - Widzew 50-54

An interesting game for Widzew (12-2) which played road game in Leszno against 3rd placed Leszno (9-4). First ranked Widzew managed to get a 4-point victory 54-50. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leszno. Widzew forced 22 Leszno turnovers. Strangely Leszno outrebounded Widzew 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Guard Anna Kudelska (169-98) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and Wiktoria Stepien (176-0) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Widzew's coach Anna Chodera allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Alicja Szloser (179-97) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Magdalena Ratajczak (188-95) scored 8 points and 17 rebounds. Widzew have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 12-2 record. Leszno at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Swarzedz. Widzew will play against Katy Wrocl. (#7) in Katy Wroclawskie in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Leszno will play on the road against Wisla Krakow and hopes to get back on the winning track.
