Very important is a road loss of third ranked Grindavik (7-5) against twelfth ranked Thor AK (1-10) on Thursday night. Visiting Grindavik was edged by Thor AK in a tough game in Akureyri 80-82. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for point guard Dui Jonsson (178-1) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Reggie Keely (204-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) contributed with 22 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Thor AK maintains twelfth position with 1-10 record. Grindavik at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Thor AK will play against higher ranked Tindastoll (#5) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Grindavik will play at home against Valur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
