Regular Season Round 15: Reggio Emilia - Tortona 84-89

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Tortona and 9th ranked Reggio Emilia had identical 6-7 record. But Reggio Emilia was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Tortona 89-84 on Thursday night. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Tortona's coach Marco Ramondino used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Mikael Hopkins (206-93, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Andrea Cinciarini (191-86, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 13 assists respectively for Reggio Emilia in the defeat. Five Tortona and four Reggio Emilia players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Tortona maintains seventh place with 7-7 record, which they share with Venezia. Loser Reggio Emilia dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Tortona will meet at home Brescia (#9) in the next round. Reggio Emilia will play against Napoli and hope to secure a win.
