Regular Season Round 15: IA - Hottur 60-102

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hottur (11-2) crushed bottom-ranked IA (1-13) in Akranes 102-60 on Friday. The game without a history. Hottur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to IA's 28. Hottur forced 20 IA turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by IA's players. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Spanish forward David Guardia (200-90) accounted for 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Five Hottur players scored in double figures. Estonian center Hendry Engelbrecht (199-99) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks and forward Aron Dagsson (192-4) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for IA in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hottur have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted IA stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Hottur will meet at home Sindri (#4) in the next round. IA will play against Skallagrimur (#7) in Borganes and hope to win that game.
