Regular Season Round 15: Chantada - Claret 103-48

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Claret (0-16) was outplayed on the road by sixth ranked Chantada (10-6) 103-48 on Saturday. Chantada dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Claret's 20. Chantada forced 23 Claret turnovers and outrebounded them 56-17 including a 23-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Jorge Aller (195-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Andorra center Aaron Guzman (199-98) helped adding 15 points and 12 rebounds. Five Chantada players scored in double figures. Chantada's coach Alberto Fafian felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Mali Oumar Drame (199-99) with 10 points and 5 rebounds and Raul Vazquez scored 9 points. Chantada moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mondragon. Claret lost their sixteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Chantada will meet league's second-placed Agustinos in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Claret will play against Porrino (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
