Regular Season Round 15: Tenerife Naut. - Quintanar 80-72

There was a minor upset in Santa Cruz where 8th ranked Quintanar (7-8) was defeated by tenth ranked Tenerife Naut. (7-8) 80-72 on Saturday. Tenerife Naut. forced 20 Quintanar turnovers. Strangely Quintanar outrebounded Tenerife Naut. 43-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Alex Navas (199-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Alberto Hernandez (183-99) helped adding 10 points and 10 assists. Tenerife Naut.'s coach Jorge Montane used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Cape Verdean forward Amarilson Semedo (194-95) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Javier Valero (187-0) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Tenerife Naut. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Alcobendas and Quintanar. Tenerife Naut. will meet at home higher ranked Rivas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quintanar will play against Alcala (#3) and hope to secure a win.
