1Liga top team - Sokol (15-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked Zak (7-9) in Lancut 96-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zak. Sokol looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Zak's players. The best player for the winners was Filip Struski (200-94) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Marcin Nowakowski (184-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 assists. Five Sokol players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American center Darrell Harris (208-84, college: URI) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Fineto Lungwana (190-94, college: Erskine) added 17 points respectively. Zak's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sokol have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-2 record. Newly promoted Zak dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Slask 2. Sokol will meet at home bottom-ranked Turow (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zak will play against Tychy (#4) and hope to secure a win.
