Regular Season Round 15: Chalons-Reims - Strasbourg 106-98

We should mention about the upset which took place in Reims, where higher ranked SIG Strasbourg (8-5) lost to sixteenth ranked Chalons-Reims (5-10) in a road game 98-106 on Saturday. Chalons-Reims shot 66.1 percent from the field. Chalons-Reims outrebounded SIG Strasbourg 34-22 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for guard Jessie Begarin (190-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 assists. Point guard Enzo Goudou-Sinha (182-98) helped adding 28 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Jean-Baptiste Maille (190-93) with 7 points, 12 assists and 5 steals and American forward Matt Mitchell (198-99, college: SDSU) scored 17 points. Five Chalons-Reims and four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. Chalons-Reims moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Fos-Provence and Paris. Loser SIG Strasbourg dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Chalons-Reims will meet higher ranked JL Bourg (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SIG Strasbourg will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
