Very predictable result when first ranked Huelva CD (11-1) beat at home 9th ranked Cimbis (3-9) 69-53 on Saturday. Huelva CD dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Cimbis' 16. They outrebounded Cimbis 42-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Victor Perez (195-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. American forward Mitchell Eighme (203-96, college: Upper Iowa, agency: Promo Sport ID) helped adding 11 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Santiago Canero (-3) with 15 points and 5 steals and Angel Canas-Balina (187-97) scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Huelva CD. They maintain first place with 11-1 record, which they share with Paterna. Newly promoted Cimbis dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Huelva CD will meet Torta del Casar (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cimbis will play against Badajoz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
