Another exciting game was played in Zaragoza between fifth ranked Girona and 4th placed Casablanca where Girona (9-4) beat Casablanca (8-5) on the road with 16-point difference 60-44. Girona forced 20 Casablanca turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vanessa Gonzalez (184-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). French guard Faustine Parra (165-0) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Girona's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Cristina Villamor (-1) answered with 14 points and guard Ana Tainta (173-0, college: Portland St.) added 13 points in the effort for Casablanca. Girona moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Casablanca at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Girona will play against Picken Claret (#6) in Valencia in the next round. Casablanca will play against Azulejos and hopes to get back on the winning track.
