Rather predictable result when third ranked Viladecans (10-3) beat at home 6th ranked Mataro (7-6) 68-55 on Saturday. Viladecans forced 20 Mataro turnovers. Point guard Elena Silva (173-93) stepped up and scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Mireia Casanovas (179-94) chipped in 12 points. At the losing side point guard Ariadna Magrina (164-94) responded with 16 points and point guard Angels Farre (165-95) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Viladecans keeps a position of Group B leader, which they share with Segle XXI. Mataro lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Lleida. Viladecans will meet Marratxi (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mataro will play against Sant Adria (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
