Regular Season Round 15: Fjolnir - Breidablik 91-81

Subway League top team - Fjolnir (12-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Breidablik (3-10) in Reykjavik 91-81. The game was mostly controlled by Fjolnir. Breidablik was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fjolnir shot 26 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Breidablik only scored ten points from the stripe. It was a quality performance for American guard Aliyah Mazyck (175-96, college: USC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Serbian-Hungarian swingman Sanja Orozovic (186-90) accounted for 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Micaela Kelly (168-98, college: CMU) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Isabella Sigurdardottir (187-97) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Breidablik in the defeat. Five Breidablik players scored in double figures. Fjolnir have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record. Breidablik at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Fjolnir will play against league's second-placed Njardvik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Breidablik will play against Grindavik (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
