Very expected game when 9th ranked Tsmoki-Minsk U20 (3-12) was smashed at home by fourth ranked Grodno (10-5) 96-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. Grodno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tsmoki-Minsk U20's 38. They outrebounded Tsmoki-Minsk U20 40-28 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grodno looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Tsmoki-Minsk U20's players. The winners were led by Ukrainian point guard Maksim Miroshnichenko (182-96, agency: BIG) who scored that evening 7 points and 18 assists and forward Tsimur Drukau (198-99) supported him with 22 points. Even 21 points by point guard Roman Scherbakov (184-3) did not help to save the game for Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Forward Aleksey Shevchenko (191-4) added 14 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno maintains fourth position with 10-5 record. Tsmoki-Minsk U20 lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Grodno will meet league's leader Borisfen in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tsmoki-Minsk U20's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Tsmoki II.
