Regular Season Round 12: Kouvot Ak. - Huima 90-85

An interesting game took place in Kouvola where higher ranked Huima (6-6) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Kouvot Ak. (5-7) 90-85 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was forward Joel Mantynen (199-2) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Aarni Korkiatupa (198-2, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Kouvot Ak. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tray Boyd III (193-98, college: ETSU) who recorded 44 points (!!!) and 4 assists and swingman Timi Puittinen (193-94) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Kouvot Ak. moved-up to eighth place. Loser Huima keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Raiders Basket. Kouvot Ak. will meet higher ranked Kristika Turku (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Huima will play against Pyrinto Ak.A and hope to secure a win.
