There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Cremona (4-9) beat at home 12th ranked Sassari (5-8) 89-80 on Sunday. Cremona dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Sassari's 24. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Andrea Pecchia (196-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Giuseppe Poeta (190-85, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 11 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (207-90) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Sassari in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
