Regular Season Round 15: SESE - Sant Cugat 98-52

There was a small surprise in Barcelona where tenth ranked SESE (4-7) outscored 8th ranked Sant Cugat (4-7) 98-52 on Sunday. SESE dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sant Cugat's 22. They outrebounded Sant Cugat 48-27 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. SESE looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sant Cugat's players. It was a great evening for Antonio Ruiz (-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Raul Diaz (194-93) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five SESE players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan guard Rafael Melgarejo (184-91) with 15 points and Daniel Busto scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SESE moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 8 other teams including defeated Sant Cugat. SESE will meet at home Pinta Castell (#9) in the next round. Sant Cugat will play against Tarragona and hope to secure a win.
