Third ranked Venezia (10-2) beat at home 5th ranked Lucca (8-5) by 11 points 71-60, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lucca. Venezia had a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Senegalese-Spanish center Astou Ndour (198-94) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Martina Bestagno (189-90) helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was guard Giulia Natali (176-2, agency: LBM Management) with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Polish center Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk (188-89) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Lucca at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Venezia are looking forward to face San Martino (#8) in San Martino di L in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lucca will play on the road against Moncalieri and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
