An interesting game was also a 16-point surprising home defeat of 5th ranked Gomel in a game versus Brest (#8) 86-70. The game was mostly controlled by Brest. Gomel managed to win third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brest forced 21 Gomel turnovers. Forward Anastasia Babak (180-2) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Daria Balaker (163-2) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Brest players scored in double figures. Power forward Olga Kopylova (187-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists and Daria Panasyuk (176-96) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Gomel in the defeat. Brest (1-11) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with BDU Tsmoki. It was Gomel's fourth loss in a row. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Gorizont 2. Brest will meet higher ranked Victoria (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gomel will play against BDU Tsmoki in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
