Regular Season Round 15: Keflavik - Njardvik 63-52

The game between second ranked Njardvik (10-4) and fourth ranked Keflavik (7-6) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Njardvik was defeated by Keflavik in Keflavik 63-52. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Njardvik managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Njardvik to just 5 points in third and fourth quarters. It was a great evening for Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (182-95, college: Okla City) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Anna Svansdottir (175-1) helped adding 10 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Aliyah Collier (177-97, college: Clemson) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Portuguese-British center Lavinia Silva (187-88) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Keflavik maintains fourth place with 7-6 record. Newly promoted Njardvik keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Valur. Keflavik are looking forward to face Haukar (#5) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. Njardvik will play at home against the league's leader Fjolnir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
