Regular Season Round 5: Olimpia - Gorizont 48-60

One of the most interesting games of round 5 was a derby match between two teams from Belarus. The game took place in Grodno where tenth ranked Gorizont won against host Olimpia (0-5) 60-48. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 31-16 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Gorizont dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpia to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Olimpia 39-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Anastasiya Verameyenka (195-87) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and center Viktoryia Hasper (192-88) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Anastasia Sushchik (160-97) responded with 16 points and 4 steals and forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (183-87) scored 7 points. Olimpia's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Belarusian champion (2-3) moved-up to ninth place. Loser Olimpia still keeps top with five games lost.
