Very expected game when 6th ranked Bergamo (8-7) was smashed on the road by second ranked Cremona (13-2) 89-47 on Wednesday. Cremona forced 22 Bergamo turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Carlo Fumagalli (193-96, agency: Players Group) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Andrea Sipala (198-95) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Five Cremona players scored in double figures. Cremona's coach Alessandro Crotti felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Matteo Negri (194-91, agency: SLN) came up with 10 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Nicola Savoldelli (183-97, agency: SLN) added 12 points respectively for Bergamo in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Cremona. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Vigevano. Loser Bergamo keeps the sixth place with seven games lost.
