Regular Season Round 5: Rostov - Young Angels 78-72

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Russian Rostov as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rostov defeated 10th ranked Slovakian Young Angels at home 78-72. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Young Angels won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rostov forced 21 Young Angels turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Anastasiia Maksimova (180-92) who scored 17 points. Forward Ekaterina Riabova (181-94, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points. American guard Valerie Higgins (185-98, college: Pacific, agency: LBM Management) produced 28 points and 4 assists and the other American import center Channon Fluker (193-97, college: CSUN) added 13 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Samara.
