Regular Season Round 16: Le Portel - Cholet 69-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventeenth ranked Cholet Basket's (5-11) road victory over bottom-ranked Le Portel (3-10) 85-69 on Friday. The winners were led by Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and American forward DJ Hogg (203-96, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. Cholet Basket's coach Laurent Vila used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 21 points by power forward Johan Passave-Ducteil (198-85) did not help to save the game for Le Portel. Point guard Benoit Mangin (188-88) added 2 points and 12 assists for lost side. Cholet Basket moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Fos-Provence. Le Portel lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Cholet Basket will meet at home higher ranked JL Bourg (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Le Portel will play against JDA Dijon (#8) and hope to secure a win.
