Regular Season Round 14: Melilla - Ourense 79-81

Very predictable result when third ranked Ourense (9-3) edged on the road 9th ranked Melilla (5-8) 81-79 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Greg Gantt (188-91, college: FAU) who scored 22 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). American Darius Carter (201-92, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Australian power forward Damian Prgomet (208-96, college: SW Baptist) produced 25 points and 5 assists and Senegalese center Massine Fall (208-93) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ourense moved-up to second place in Silver. Loser Melilla keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Ourense will meet at home Moron (#6) in the next round. Melilla will play against Carbajosa and hope to secure a win.
