Regular Season Round 16: Alcobendas - Socuellamos 86-70

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Socuellamos (6-9) lost on the road to eighth ranked Alcobendas (8-8) 86-70 on Saturday. The winners were led by forward Alberto de la Torre (201-94) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Alejandro Fortes (204-90) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by American guard Jordan Hickman (201-96, college: Sonoma St.) did not help to save the game for Socuellamos. Canadian point guard Adrian Armstrong (183, college: Concordia) added 15 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Alcobendas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Socuellamos lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Fuenlabrada 2. Alcobendas will meet Quintanar (#10) on the road in the next round. Socuellamos will play against Guadalajara and hope to secure a win.
