Regular Season Round 12: PAOK - Kolossos HH 86-80

The most important game in the last round took place in Thessaloniki between third ranked Kolossos HH (7-4) and eleventh ranked PAOK (4-6) on Saturday night. Kolossos HH was defeated by PAOK in a tough game on the road 80-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kolossos HH. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-15. But Kolossos HH won second period 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when PAOK won last quarter 24-19. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American center Marvin Jones (213-93, college: Texas Southern, agency: Network Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four PAOK players scored in double figures. American guard Jordan Floyd (188-97, college: King) replied with 20 points and international power forward Vaggelis Margaritis (203-82) added 15 points in the effort for Kolossos HH. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PAOK moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Aris. Kolossos HH at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. PAOK is looking forward to face higher ranked AEK (#7) in Athens in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kolossos HH will play at home against the league's second-placed Olympiacos where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
