Regular Season Round 16: Strasbourg - Limoges CSP 97-66
Date: January 15, 2022
There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Limoges CSP Elite (9-7) was outleveled on the road by sixth ranked SIG Strasbourg (9-5) 97-66 on Saturday. SIG Strasbourg made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Matt Mitchell (198-99, college: SDSU) who scored that evening 21 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import guard DeAndre Lansdowne (188-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. SIG Strasbourg's coach Lassi Tuovi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points by American guard CJ Massinburg (190-97, college: Buffalo) did not help to save the game for Limoges CSP Elite. The former international guard Nicolas Lang (198-90, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points for lost side. SIG Strasbourg moved-up to fourth place. Loser Limoges CSP Elite dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. SIG Strasbourg will meet league's leader Metropolitans in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Limoges CSP Elite will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#3) and hope to secure a win.
