Very expected game when bottom-ranked Claret (0-17) was smashed by third ranked Porrino (13-4) in Segovia 90-42 on Saturday. Porrino dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Claret's 30. They outrebounded Claret 60-26 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Porrino looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Claret's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Porrino made 10 blocks. The winners were led by Manuel Varela (182-1) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Mourtala Ka supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Pablo Lopez (172-1) did not help to save the game for Claret. Guard Javier Lazaro (181-0) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Porrino maintains third position in Group A-B with 13-4 record having just four point less than leader Lliria. Newly promoted Claret still closes the standings with 17 games lost. Porrino will meet at home league's second-placed Agustinos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Claret will play against Leon (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
