Very important is a road loss of third ranked Castello (9-4) against eleventh ranked Almeda (5-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Castello was edged by Almeda in a tough game in Barcelona 49-50. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Castello. Almeda forced 19 Castello turnovers. Center Cristina Pujol (178-95) notched 8 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Carlota Diaz-Guerra (-3) supported her with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 6 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Angolan-Portuguese power forward Artemis Afonso (175-93) did not help to save the game for Castello. Forward Aina Martin (178-0) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Almeda moved-up to tenth place in Group B. Castello at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Girona. Almeda will meet league's second-placed Viladecans in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Castello will play against Casablanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
