Regular Season Round 16: Sassari - Trento 88-80

There was an upset when higher ranked Trento (8-6) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Sassari (7-8) 88-80 on Sunday. American guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) fired 22 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (207-90) chipped in 18 points. Sassari's coach Demis Cavina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jordan Caroline (201-96, college: Nevada) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international Diego Flaccadori (193-96) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Trento players scored in double figures. Sassari moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Reggio Emilia and Venezia. Loser Trento dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Trieste. Sassari will meet higher ranked Brescia (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Trento will play against Napoli and hope to secure a win.
