Rather predictable result when first ranked Huelva CD (12-1) won against 5th ranked Torta del Casar (6-7) in Caceres 76-70 on Sunday. Huelva CD outrebounded Torta del Casar 47-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Senegalese power forward Pape Sow (205-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Swedish power forward David Hermes (207) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by Alejandro Martinez (-2) did not help to save the game for Torta del Casar. Swingman Eduardo Recio (188-1) added 10 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Huelva CD have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group D-B with 12-1 record. Loser Torta del Casar keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Badajoz and Real Betis 2. Huelva CD will meet at home league's leader Pozuelo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Torta del Casar will play against Badajoz (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
