Regular Season Round 12: Landes - Tarbes 66-64

Eleventh-ranked Tarbes (3-9) gave a tough game to second ranked Basket Landes (9-3) in Mont de Marsan on Sunday. Basket Landes managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tarbes. Worth to mention a great performance of Swedish power forward Regan Magarity (190-96, college: Virginia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Marine Fauthoux (173-1) who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Basket Landes' coach Julie Barennes used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Marie Pardon (177-1, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Yohana Ewodo (183-1) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Tarbes players scored in double figures. Basket Landes have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-3 record having just one point less than leader Bourges. Tarbes at the other side dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Bretagne. Basket Landes are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Charnay (#12) in Charnay-les-Macon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarbes will play at home against Angers and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
