Regular Season Round 18: KTP Basket - Kouvot 93-117

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kotka. Second ranked Kouvot faced 4th ranked KTP Basket. Guests from Kouvola (13-5) smashed host KTP Basket (10-8) 117-93. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 117-93. Kouvot made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Kouvot looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Syrian guard Amir Hinton (196-97, college: Shaw) who scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Canadian guard Isiah Osborne (196-96, college: Carleton) chipped in 24 points and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Flenard Whitfield (201-90, college: W.Michigan) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Remu Raitanen (206-97, college: USF, agency: Blacktop Management) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kouvot maintains second position with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Kauhajoki. KTP Basket at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Kouvot are looking forward to face Pyrinto (#7) in Tampere in the next round where they are favorite. KTP Basket will play at home against Bisons and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
