Leader Kauhajoki delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 10th ranked Kataja (6-10) 106-78 in Joensuu. The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kauhajoki outrebounded Kataja 43-17 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 59.4 percentage. Kauhajoki players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Kataja's players. It was a good game for American forward Simeon Carter (203-96, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Severi Kaukiainen (185-98, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. Five Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. American guard Nick Griffin (188-95, college: St.Peter's) replied with 21 points and international point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points in the effort for Kataja. Kataja's coach Petri Virtanen gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Kauhajoki (16-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Kataja at the other side keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Kauhajoki will play against Lahti (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kataja will play against Vilpas in Salo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
