Regular Season Round 15: GTK 2 - AZS UMCS II 87-51

There was a minor upset in Gdynia where 9th ranked AZS UMCS II (6-11) was crushed by twelfth ranked GTK 2 (4-12) 87-51 on Wednesday. GTK 2 forced 26 AZS UMCS II turnovers and outrebounded them 44-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by AZS UMCS II's players. It was a great evening for guard Natalia Baruch (180-3) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Julia Myszkowska (171-2) helped adding 16 points. Four GTK 2 players scored in double figures. Coach Karolina Wieczorek's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Anita Kuniewicz (170-6) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Klaudia Pastwa (178-5) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. GTK 2 moved-up to eleventh place in Group A, which they share with Wolomin. AZS UMCS II lost their third game in a row. AZS UMCS II at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. GTK 2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AZS UMCS II will play against the league's second-placed AZS UG (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
