Regular Season Round 14: Neptunas - Aistes-LSMU 72-75

The most exciting game of round 14 in the WBBL took place in Klaipeda. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Neptunas (10-3) to fifth ranked Aistes-LSMU (8-7) 75-72 on Wednesday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Neptunas won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Gintare Paulauskaite (185-95) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Deimante Zukaite (166-98) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Brazilian Maisa Pereira (183-2, agency: Interperformances) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-0) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Aistes-LSMU and five Neptunas players scored in double figures. Aistes-LSMU have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 8-7 record. Neptunas at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Liepaja/LSSS. Aistes-LSMU are looking forward to face LCC Tarp. (#12) in Klaipeda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Neptunas will play at home against the league's leader TTT Riga (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
