Eleventh-ranked Spojnia (8-11) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Twarde Pierniki (13-6) in Stargard on Friday. The visitors from Torun managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Twarde Pierniki made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American-Mexican center Daniel Amigo (208-95, college: Denver) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. American guard James Eads III (190-97, college: Tuskegee, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. British-Swedish power forward Nicholas Spires (210-94) replied with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Kerron Johnson (183-90, college: Belmont) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Spojnia. Twarde Pierniki maintains third position with 13-6 record having just two points less than leader Czarni. Spojnia at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Twarde Pierniki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spojnia will play at home against GTK (#16) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
