Regular Season Round 15: Marbella - Algeciras 86-76

There was an upset when higher ranked Algeciras (5-10) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Marbella (4-11) 86-76 on Saturday. Marbella made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Adrian Fuentes (183-87, agency: Promo Sport ID) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Bosnian forward Lazar Mutic (203-99) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Jamaican-Canadian guard Jamal Reynolds (193-94, college: Canisius) with 32 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Gibraltar point guard Miguel Ortega (187-91) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Marbella moved-up to thirteenth place in Silver. Loser Algeciras keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Marbella will meet higher ranked Gijon (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Algeciras will play against Cantabria where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
