Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Alcobendas (9-8) beat on the road 10th ranked Quintanar (7-10) 78-68 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Alejandro Fortes (204-90) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Jorge Tejera (200-92) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. French forward Hugo Cluysen (203-98, college: NAIT) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and Jorge Del Pino (194-96) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Alcobendas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place in Group B. Quintanar lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Alcobendas will meet at home higher ranked Rivas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quintanar will play against Socuellamos (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
